Upcoming contracts in 2006 include:
Jefferson County School System
This unit is composed of all the custodial staff of the Jefferson County school system. Their contract expired in July of this year and the membership. The membership approved a extension to give the Governor time to put together a fair budget.
The committee elected have thier job cut out for them as the governor does not have a budget yet.

SEIU members Protest Healthcare cuts Protest against the Governors Health care cuts . SEIU members working for the Jefferson County Public Schools showed up to tell the Governor what they think of his propossed Healthcare cuts that will affect all State Employees. The Jefferson County Teacheres Association orgainized the Rally. This one Held in Louisville coincided with others held across the State of Kentucky to Protest Governor Ernie Fletchers propossed Healtcare cuts. |

Thier was a lot of purple signs at the Rally. Besides SEIU members many different labor groups showed up to annouce thier support in the struggle for decent healt care. Kentucky already rates at number 49 (with 1 bieng the best) in its healtcare benifits and cost provided to its employees. |

JCPS Chapter The Jefferson County Schools have thier own chapter which meets once a quarter to discuss and direct business concerning their particular contract and issues effecting them as shown in the Photo at left |
