What’s Next for the Labor Movement?
After several years of discussion within SEIU, our leaders have put forward a 10-point proposal for revitalizing up the labor movement and rebuilding working people’s strength and unity. SEIU is calling for action now — before Bush starts his second term in January.

Unite to Win
Proposal Highlights
• Challenge the “Wal-Marting” of American jobs.
• Lead a national campaign for quality health care for all.
• Dramatically shift priorities to help millions of workers join unions.
• Build global unions.
• Restructure the labor movement to unite the strength of workers in the same industry.

As the White House and Congress gears up four more years of attacks on working people, we need to fight back. Despite the hard work of thousands of union leaders, members, and staff, the labor movement is growing smaller — not stronger — and we are less united than ever before. Global corporations, meanwhile, are getting larger and stronger.
SEIU has launched a new Web site, UniteToWin.org, with a bold proposal to build strength and unite everyone who works in the same industry, and a discussions forum for what's next in the labor movement.
